Every month, my roommate and I mix cocktails and watch a few episodes of The Golden Girls. It’s a chance to unwind, catch up, and build skills as amateur bartenders. Follow this ongoing series of drinks to suit your tastes!

For our inaugural evening of drinks, my roommate and I made this delicious grapefruit cucumber cocktail, via Joy the Baker. This light and fizzy gin-based beverage dances on your tongue. Make sure you use fresh grapefruit juice—it’s all the tastier.

  • 2–4 ounces of gin
  • 1 cup fresh grapefruit juice
  • 1 cup ginger ale
  • Fresh grapefruit and cucumber slices
  • Lotsa ice

This recipe is dead easy. Simply pile your ice into two glasses, and divide your gin, grapefruit juice, and ginger ale between the glasses. Top with a garnish of grapefruit and cucumber.
